<div style="text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-size:14px;"><u>Arnaldo Filho</u><br /> <em>Portal AF Not&iacute;cias</em><br /> <br /> O aluno da rede estadual de ensino do Tocantins, Bruno Barros de Sousa, 11 anos, &eacute; um dos 12 estudantes selecionados no Brasil para participar da Prepara&ccedil;&atilde;o Especial para Competi&ccedil;&otilde;es Internacionais em Matem&aacute;tica (PECI). Bruno &eacute; tamb&eacute;m medalhista de ouro da Olimp&iacute;ada Brasileira de Matem&aacute;tica das Escolas P&uacute;blicas (OBMEP 2012) e recebeu, em junho, a premia&ccedil;&atilde;o no Rio de Janeiro (RJ).<br /> <br /> Bruno estuda na</span><span style="font-size: 14px;">&nbsp;Escola Paroquial S&atilde;o Miguel, em Xambio&aacute;, e&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 14px;">&eacute; o &uacute;nico aluno do Estado escolhido para participar do programa. Ele viajar&aacute; para encontros presenciais em Bras&iacute;lia onde participar&aacute; de aulas de &Aacute;lgebra, Combinat&oacute;ria, Geometria, Teoria dos N&uacute;meros e sess&otilde;es de resolu&ccedil;&otilde;es de problemas, al&eacute;m de jogos, filmes, futebol e outras atividades.&nbsp;</span></div> <div style="text-align: justify;"> <br /> <span style="font-size:14px;">O PECI &mdash; Prepara&ccedil;&atilde;o Especial para Competi&ccedil;&otilde;es Internacionais &eacute; um programa da OBMEP que nasceu em 2009 com o objetivo de preparar alunos de escolas p&uacute;blicas para&nbsp; que consigam participar de competi&ccedil;&otilde;es internacionais de matem&aacute;tica. Em 2012 e 2013 participaram al&eacute;m de alunos de escolas p&uacute;blicas, alunos de escolas particulares premiados na OBM &mdash; Olimp&iacute;ada Brasileira de Matem&aacute;tica.<br /> <br /> No dia 05 de outubro, 336 alunos convidados de todo o Brasil participaram do processo de sele&ccedil;&atilde;o para o Programa PECI 2014, destes foram selecionados apenas 12 para participar dos encontros presenciais, dentre eles Bruno.<br /> <br /> Para a Diretora Regional de Ensino de Aragua&iacute;na, Edilandia Matos, &eacute; motivo de muito orgulho para o Tocantins termos um representante escolhido entre os 336 melhores do pa&iacute;s.&nbsp;<em>&ldquo;Isso demonstra que nossa educa&ccedil;&atilde;o est&aacute; no caminho certo&rdquo;</em>, destacou.</span><br /> <br /> <br /> <table
